HM Rajnath Singh to visit Islamabad, address police & CRPF personnel | KNO

On his four day visit to Jammu & Kashmir, Home Minsiter Raj Nath Singh is scheduled to address a gathering of police personnel and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Khanabal in Islamabad district later in the day, reports said.

According to police officials, intense security arrangements have been put in place to thwart any attempt of disrupting the visit.

Pertinently militants attacked police party at General Bus Stand Islamabad on Saturday in which one policeman was killed and other three injured. Meanwhile for the third consecutive day, restrictions have been imposed in the parts of old city.

The district magisterate Srinagar Saturday has ordered that restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safakadal, and Maisuma in district Srinagar on September 10 (Sunday) as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.

Not allowing them to move out of their houses, senior separatist leaders, Syed Ali Geelani continues to remain under house detention. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house again on Friday, while Muhammad Yasin Malik has been lodged in the city’s Central Jail.

Railway authorities also suspended train services between north Kashmir’s Baramulla and Jammu’s Banihal towns.
